• Thermometer:
  An oven (or freezer) thermometer with a bimetallic spiral is proved in the HOP tool kit. As the metal spiral heats up, it expands and rotates a dial on the front of the thermometer. This kind of a thermometer can be used to make a thermostat.
• Thermistor:
  This is a semiconductor that conducts electricity much better as it warms up. As a result, you find that its resistance changes very quickly with temperature.
• Construction Tools:
  • sharp knife
  • straight edge
  • ruler (cm)
  • hot-glue gun
• Electrical Tools:
  • wire stripper,
  • soldering iron and solder.

  • Corrugated cardboard and hot glue
  • Thermometer with bimetalic coil (oven or freezer).
  • 12VDC wall transformer (1 amp)
  • small 12 V cooling fan.
  • Auto tail-light bulb,
  • Calibrated thermistor
  • Clip leads (4)
  • Hookup wire.
  • Heat shrink insulation ("Spaghetti")
  • 30 cm stiff iron wire
